Surveillance and Security Camera Installation

Cameras you can actually read, recorded on site, viewable from anywhere.

Cameras placed by someone who walked the property

A camera pointed at the wrong angle, or placed for the sake of coverage instead of the sake of a usable picture, produces footage nobody can actually read after the fact. We walk the property before we place a single camera, thinking through sightlines, lighting at night, and the spots someone would actually want a clear look at: the driveway, the front door, the side gate, the pool.

Motion detection and night vision are standard on the equipment we install, but the placement is what makes them useful. A camera aimed too wide catches motion constantly and generates alerts nobody checks. A camera aimed with intention catches the right motion, at the right threshold, and actually gets watched instead of ignored after the first week.

Recorded on site, viewable remotely

Recording lives on equipment in the house, which means the footage exists whether or not the internet is up at the moment something happens. Viewing that footage remotely is a separate layer on top, built into the same app as the rest of the system.

  • Footage recorded to equipment in the house, not dependent on an internet connection to exist
  • Live and recorded video viewable remotely from a phone, tied into the same app as the rest of the system
  • Motion alerts sent to the people who actually want them, not everyone with the app
  • Integration with locks and lighting, so a triggered camera can be tied to a scene, not just a notification

Part of the whole-house system

Cameras built into the same Control4 platform as everything else mean the doorbell camera, the driveway camera, and the whole-house lock status all live on one screen instead of three separate apps with three separate logins. An Away scene can arm the cameras at the same time it sets the locks and puts the lights on a pattern.

Systems installed by someone else

If a system already exists in the house and is genuinely workable, we can take on service calls after a consultation. That's different from a full new install, and it starts with a look at what's already there before anything gets promised.

Coverage that makes sense as a set

Individual cameras matter less than how the set of them covers the property together. A driveway camera and a front door camera with a gap between them leaves a blind spot exactly where someone would walk to avoid being seen. We plan coverage as one continuous picture of the property's approach points, not a handful of cameras chosen one at a time.

Night vision and low light

Most driveway and entry cameras earn their keep after dark, which is exactly when a poorly placed or underpowered camera fails. We spec cameras and placement with low-light performance in mind from the start, so the footage that matters most, the two in the morning kind, is footage you can actually make sense of instead of a washed-out clip of headlights.

Decide what each camera needs to show

A wide property view and a clear view of an entry serve different purposes. Start by defining the view you need.

  • Mark entries and areas you need to see, avoiding unnecessary views into neighboring property.
  • Discuss lighting conditions, mounting access, and cable routes.
  • Ask how recordings are stored, accessed, and retained for the proposed equipment.
  • Identify who needs remote access and discuss account access at handover.

Discuss your surveillance and security project, or read the consultation checklist first.

Have a system someone else installed? We take those on after a consultation, when the equipment is workable.
