Whole-House Audio and Video Installation

Sound in every room, sources in one closet, no boxes stacked under any television.

One rack, not a box under every screen

Distributed audio and video means every source, the cable box, the streaming device, the disc player, lives in one rack, usually a closet or an equipment room, and gets sent out to every screen and every speaker in the house over cable. No component stacks under the television, no remote graveyard on the coffee table, and no separate subscription-box mess in the theater versus the kitchen versus the primary bedroom.

The rack we install and photograph on our own projects gets set into a walnut frame with everything labeled, so the person who eventually opens that door, whether it's Conrad on a service call or a future owner, can read the system at a glance instead of guessing at a wall of cables.

Multi-room audio

Multi-room audio means every room can play something different, or every room can play the same thing together, and either way it started from one source in the rack rather than a speaker plugged into a soundbar in each room. Zones can be grouped for a party or split apart for a quiet morning, and the switch happens from the same app or keypad used for lighting.

  • In-ceiling and in-wall speakers zoned by room, each controllable on its own or grouped together
  • Weather-rated speakers for patios and outdoor living spaces
  • Streaming, local libraries, and whole-home paging from the same interface
  • Volume and source control from a keypad, a wall panel, or the app, without walking to the rack

Ultra high definition video distribution

Video runs the same way: a source in the rack, distributed to displays throughout the house over structured cable, with the resolution and bandwidth headroom to carry current 4K content without visible compression artifacts. That includes large format displays and Micro LED walls sized for a great room or media wall, driven by the same distribution backbone as a bedroom television down the hall.

Built to grow

A rack designed correctly on day one has room in it. Adding a zone, a display, or a new source later means running a cable and adding an output, not re-engineering the closet. That is part of why the design conversation up front matters: we plan for the rooms you have not finished yet, not just the ones on today's list.

Large format and Micro LED

A great room or a media wall built around a large format display or a Micro LED wall needs its own planning: structural support for the weight, ventilation, and a viewing distance that makes sense for the screen size chosen. We spec those the same way we spec a theater screen, around the room, not around whatever fits the space that's left.

Outdoor rooms count too

Patios, covered porches, and pool areas get the same treatment as an indoor room: weather-rated speakers, displays sized and shaded for outdoor viewing, and controls that live on the same app as the rest of the house. A backyard movie night or a game on a fall afternoon runs off the same rack in the closet, not a separate outdoor system someone has to remember how to start.

Map the listening zones

Two rooms playing together and two rooms playing different sources are different requirements. A room-by-room list makes that clear.

  • Mark rooms that should play together and rooms that need independent control.
  • List music services, televisions, and sources you want to use.
  • Identify indoor and outdoor areas separately, including where speakers can be placed.
  • Ask where equipment will live and how sources will be selected in each room.

Discuss your distributed audio and video project, or read the consultation checklist first.
